You've Been Asleep for a Hundred Seconds

Bad Stamps now has permission to sell stamps with custom pictures on them. While I think its great that you can send stamps with your wedding or baby photos, the fact that I can create a stamp featuring a tattoo of a peglegged baby riding a bleeding sheep that the post office will consider valid postage is reason enough to end this practice.

No, this is great! Finally, some U.S. stamps that don't look like somebody drew them using MacPaint! We can finally get up to U.K. standard this way.

Seriously though, there are regulations. No images that are: obscene, offensive, blasphemous, pornographic, unlawful, deceptive, threatening, menacing, abusive, harmful, an invasion of privacy or publicity rights, supportive of unlawful action, defamatory, libelous, vulgar, illegal, or otherwise objectionable. Which pretty much gives them the right to reject anything. It's kind of like custom license plates.

I would totally do this given the right circumstances.

The problem, of course, is the cost. You're paying $1 for each 37c stamp if you only order 20. I guess it gets better the more you buy.
